For some time now, I have been posting artists I like on Pinterest*. It acts as a really good updated stream of what is catching my eye. I also think of it as being a passive resource where if I decide to curate a show anytime soon, I already have a collection of visual artists I have been staring at and am naturally attracted to. It will prevent that amateur shit of coming up with some theme, and attempting to cram artists into some predefined agenda (which I, as well as every other “curator”, have been guilty of). Now I have real genuine collection, where patterns emerge in a natural way.
So who wants to let me curate a show in their space?
*There are few things stupider on the internet than Pinterest, but I’ll be damned if it doesn’t make for a great way to visually catalogue paintings and sculptures.
